National Education 101

The Boys Scouts came to our home to sell flags today!! Mommy paid $2 for it and then Daddy excitedly tore up the package and took out this huge red and white flag, with a crescent and five stars on it!!! It looked real cool... Mommy took several photos of Daddy and me with the flag. Daddy then proceeded to explain to me that this is our country, Singapore's national flag. As it is nearing our National Day (9th August), Daddy say that we will be hanging the flag outside our flat to celebrate the occassion.

This is my country... This is my flag...

Daddy then told Mommy, 'Lets be kiasu, and quickly hang out the flag...see whether we are the first to hang out the national flag!' To my amusement, Daddy and Mommy then proceeded with a foray of activity to hang the flag. Thereafter, all three of us quickly scrambled downstairs to check out if we were indeed the first resident of our block to hang it out. And indeed, this was the case!! Daddy and Mommy even took photos to prove it!!! And as we were taking photos, we saw two other residents hanging out their flags!!

See!! the flag on the bottom right was hung by my Daddy and Mommy!!! That's where we stay! We are the first in the block to show our patriotism!!! ....
