School: First Week Report
Day 1 - Monday : 2 year (and 3 months) old Isaac finally started school! He was still recovering from a runny nose so the energy level wasn't as high as usual. But he was certainly looking forward to school and wore his thomas-the-train school bag and his red uniform proudly....Granny Nai Nai brought him to school and he was relatively ok (smiling at his cousins Joel and Glory who were in the same school, proud to be joining them). Nai Nai left him there, whilst he was distracted by the giant computer screen. Aunty Christel checked on him at 11-ish and noticed that he was a little tired, still recovering from his runny nose and not used to not having his morning nap. She brought him home, bathed him and he basically 'knocked out' and snore himself to dreamland. All in all, a splendid performance for the little one on 'Day 1' of school, and his parents were real proud of him!!
Day 2 - Tuesday : Isaac cried intermittently the whole morning when he realised that his Granny Nai Nai had left him alone in school. Despite the presence of his cousins in the same school, he was not at ease and kept looking for Nai Nai. Teacher Nor managed to distract him once in a while but not for long. He decided to go on a 'hunger strike' during lunch time to register his displeasure, and refused Teacher Nor's offer to feed him! And then he spotted Nai Nai who was peeping at him from the window and cried out loud at her! Nai Nai had to show herself and comforted him and fed him. For the rest of the day, he stuck close to Nai Nai....Even during his nap time, he had dreams of being abandoned and woke up crying hysterically for Nai Nai!
Day 3 - Wednesday : Isaac told Daddy and Mummy in the morning that that he 'dun wan to go school'. He didn't liked the school uniform anymore. But he was still keen on the Thomas-the-train schoolbag. Of course, he didn't have his way and was still forced to go to school. He cried and continued with his napmares/nightmares...Poor boy! He didn't even want to come home from Nai Nai's, holding on tightly to her leg and even crying for her continuously after reaching home!! Suffice to say, it was a sleepless night for Daddy and Mummy too!
Day 4 - Thursday : Isaac still tried to run away from the school uniform. Today, its Granny Poh Poh's turn to bring him to school. Having heard the distress and nightmares that Isaac had undergone for the past few days, Poh Poh decided to tag along with Isaac to school to help give him some comfort and assurance that he would not be 'abandoned'. It was funny to hear Poh Poh relate how Isaac insisted on sitting and leaning his back on her legs during lessons. Everytime Poh Poh shifted her legs, Isaac panicked and checked behind to ensure that she was still there, at the same time moving his backside back to have it 'stuck closer' to her leg!
Day 5 - Friday : Granny Poh Poh left Isaac in school today. Whilst he cried a little, he seemed a little more resigned to the reality that he would have to get used to this routine. The principle assured the Grandparents that Isaac would be fine. Indeed, when Aunty Christel went to picked Isaac up from school, together with her children Joel and Glory, she reported that Isaac was happily playing with 'Play Doh'! Splendid, little one!! ...though he still continued to tell his parents that he didn't want to go to school. : )

Prep for school : The school bag
The parents scouted around the whole Marine Parade area in the rain and finally settled for him a cool blue Thomas the Train schoolbag!! Look at the joy and delight on his face! He wore the schoolbag that whole afternoon and refused to take it down, eating dinner and even exercising with it (see below)!
am sure he wouldn't have problems with his BMT in future!
: )
